Hand Therapy
What is hand therapy?
Hand therapy is a health profession specializing in the assessment and treatment of a wide variety of upper extremity conditions. Because of the technical complexity of the hand and arm, hand therapy requires the highest level of competence of both anatomy and physiology. Rehabilitation is provided by a certified hand therapist (CHT) who will help you regain optimal use of your upper limb through manual therapy, functional exercises, modalities, and custom splinting.
At the Mettler Hand Clinic, services are provided by Sheila King, OTR/L, CHT, a licensed occupational therapist and certified hand therapist with over 20 years experience in hand therapy.
How will you benefit?
At Mettler, our certified hand therapist is committed to helping you learn or regain the skills necessary for an independent and satisfying life. Working with your doctor, a certified hand therapist will evaluate your condition and implement the most effective treatment plan. Under the care of a hand therapist, you’ll be given effective ways to restore functional abilities in your daily life, allowing a return to the activities that give you pleasure and a sense of purpose.
Why Mettler Hand Clinic?
Nearly 15 years ago, Paul R. Mettler, PT, DPT developed a specialized manual therapy that allows for the effective treatment of acute and chronic injuries.
